An overview of the current regeneration projects happening in Staffordshire Moorlands
Masterplans
The Council have a number of adopted masterplans covering the area. A number of these have been superceded by the adopted Local Plan or due to changing economic demand are not currently proposed to be delivered in full, but are provided for reference. Please see latest Growth Strategy and Corporate Plan for current priorities.
- Biddulph Town Centre area action plan - adopted as a Development Plan Document in 2007.
- Cheadle Town Centre Masterplan - adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) in 2014.
- Churnet Valley Masterplan - adopted as Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) in 2014.
- Leek Town Centre Masterplan - adopted as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) in 2014.
Growth Strategy
The Growth Strategy reflects what Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will do to support and lead our place to secure future prosperity for our communities and sets out how Staffordshire Moorlands can build on its strengths and move forward positively.
Over the next three years, the Council will focus on six missions to facilitate growth in the district:
- Mission 1 - Accelerate Housing Delivery
- Mission 2 - Increase Employment Growth
- Mission 3 - Develop the Local Visitor Economy
- Mission 4 - Support and Diversify the Rural Economy
- Mission 5 - Further Regenerate Towns
- Mission 6 - Support Business and the Development of Local Skills
