See why your bin has not been emptied

Our bin wagons are fitted with a system that records any issues the crews may have had with collections when out and about on their rounds

16 July - Unfortunately, we have been unable to complete some Garden Waste Collections in Leek, due to a fire at the transfer station. We will return to complete collections as soon as possible.

Leek Transfer Station

The temporary closure of Leek Transfer Station has had a significant impact on our operational resources. The requirement to divert waste to alternative disposal facilities at Sandbach and Hanford has increased travel times and resource demands, affecting our ability to maintain normal service levels.

As a result, there are currently delays to caddy, bin, sack deliveries and missed collections. Additional resources are being deployed where possible to minimise disruption and restore services as quickly as possible.

We anticipate that all outstanding deliveries and missed collections will be addressed, and services returned to normal levels, by no later than the 24th July. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their patience and understanding during this period.

If your bin was presented at your bin collection point by 6am on the collection day, but it hasn't been emptied by the end of the day, you can now see if there was an access issue affecting all or part of your street at the time we were collecting. This form will tell you if we plan to return for the bin before your next bin day.

We won't return to empty your bin before your next collection day if:

  • your bin was not out for collection when we visited your street
  • the wrong bin was presented
  • the bin contained items or materials we don't accept and has been stickered by our crew
  • the bin was too heavy for the crew to move
  • the contents of your bin were stuck or frozen inside and didn't drop out when we tipped the bin
  • it's for a food caddy collection. This is due to it being a weekly schedule

If no reasons were reported by the crew, you can use this same form to report a missed collection to us and we will come back within 5 working days.

Food waste collections are carried out on a weekly schedule. As a result we are unable to return for none collections before the next scheduled collection. However, we would still encourage you to use the form below to let us know if you have experienced a noncollection. This is so we can monitor the process and help ensure you receive a reliable service in future.

Missed collections must be reported within 2 working days of your scheduled bin day.
