UK Shared Prosperity Fund

The Staffordshire Moorlands UKSPF programme ended on 31st March 2026.

Background & Overview

UKSPF funding was awarded from central government over a period of four years spanning 2022-2026.  The funding was allocated in two separate rounds:

The first allocation covered the period 2022-2025, with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council receiving £3,231,713*

Funds were allocated to deliver activity across three priority areas, with direct investments made as follows:-

  • Communities & Place £1,353,225
  • Supporting Local Business £1,359,066
  • People & Skills £395,125


In 2025-2026, a further allocation of £1,121,764* was made and supported additional activity across the priority areas:-

  • Communities and Place £567,897
  • Support for Local Business £223,623
  • People and Skills £280,900

*inc Management & Administration costs for UKSPF & REPF delivery
 

The Programme was delivered through:

1.      Open Procurement 

2.      Direct spend by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council

3.      Award of grants through a competitive grant process


The Staffordshire Moorlands UKSPF Investment Plan was submitted in August 2022 as below:

A UKSPF Board was established to oversee the delivery of UKSPF in Staffordshire Moorlands. 


The Rural Fund

In addition to the core UKSPF funding, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council were also allocated Rural England Prosperity Funding (REPF) to support our rural areas.

The Rural Fund ended on 31st March 2026.

For 2023-2025, £352,482 was allocated to Staffordshire Moorlands rural business and community grants.

For 2025-2026, a further £122,984 was allocated from the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

The Rural Fund was managed alongside the UKSPF allocation and overseen by the UKSPF Board.

UKSPF Project Delivery

At the heart of the UKSPF investment plan was the need to deliver strategic projects to support economic growth and a sense of pride in place in our communities.

UKSPF Grants Programme

Between 2022-2026, grant funding over £1.5 million was issued directly to local businesses, community groups and civic societies through multiple grant schemes.
