New grants for businesses and communities

Local businesses and communities can now apply for new grants launched by the District Council.
The 'To Thrive' Business Development Grant is offering grants of £2,000 to £10,000 to Moorlands businesses for a specific project or investment. The grants are administered by the County Council and the closing date for applications is 31 December or when the £158,000 pot is fully allocated.
And communities are being invited to apply for the Staffordshire Moorlands Community Social Action Grant aimed at supporting grassroots organisations in running community-building activities.
This fund is offering 20 grants of up to £500 each to support activities such as a local celebration, a workshop, community project or volunteering initiative that sparks lasting connections and strengthens neighbourhood ties. The deadline for applications is Friday 18 July.
Council Leader, Councillor Mike Gledhill, said: "We're delighted to announce these new grants as part of the suite of support we're offering local businesses and our communities through our UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
"We want to see businesses thriving and empower our communities to work together to improve their neighbourhoods and develop strong local networks. I hope the funding we're making available will help achieve this and I encourage people to get their applications in."
The Community Social Action Grant is being administered by Support Staffordshire who can also offer help with your application.
