The Staffordshire Moorlands Local Plan was submitted for examination on the 28th June 2018. The submitted plan and supporting documents are available to view in the table below.
Latest News
20 July 2020 - The Council received the Inspector's Report on the 18 June 2020 and it has now been published. It can be viewed below at EL15.001. The accompanying Main Modifications Schedule and appendices can be viewed at EL15.002.
Erratum to Inspector's Report - paragraph 22 of the report incorrectly states that an allowance has been made for 100 dwellings per annum inside the Peak District National Park. In fact the allowance of 100 dwellings for the national park is for the whole of the Plan period as set out in paragraph 169 of the report.
26 March 2020 - The Council has now issued a response to the Inspector's post hearing advice letter which can be viewed in EL14.004 below.
27 February 2020 - The Inspector has set out his advice following the hearings on 4 and 5 February 2020 in a letter which can be found at EL14.003. As the letter explains, the Inspector is not inviting or accepting any comments from any other parties involved in the examination. Any that are received will be returned by the Programme Officer.
The Hearings
As part of the examination process the Inspector held a series of hearings at Moorlands House, Leek between Tuesday 9 and Tuesday 23 October 2018 and 4 and 5 February 2020.
Appointed Inspector
Inspector Mark Dakeyne BA (Hons) MRTPI has been appointed to undertake an independent examination into the soundness of the plan and to subsequently issue a report with his conclusions.

Representors and other interested parties are encouraged to view it on a regular basis for new items and latest developments. Details regarding the time, dates and location of the examination hearing sessions will be made available on this web page in due course.
In line with current Government advice on the COVID-19 outbreak, Council Offices and local libraries are currently closed to the public.
