On Thursday 2 May 2024 the elections taking place across Staffordshire Moorlands are to elect the next Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for the Staffordshire Police Area. Previously the elections for a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner used the supplementary voting system but legislation has recently changed. The election taking place on 2 May 2024 will use the 'first past the post' method of voting. This means you will have one vote for the candidate of your choice. The candidate with the most votes will be elected.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 16th April 2024. Applications can be made online register to vote
If you cannot attend your polling station, you can apply to vote by post. Applications, amendments or cancellations to postal vote arrangements must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer before 5.00 pm on Wednesday 17 April 2024. Alternatively you may choose to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf, applications must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer before 5.00 pm on Wednesday 24 April 2024. You will need to show photographic ID to vote in the polling station. To find our what ID you can use, or how to get an accepted form of ID details are on the Electoral Commission website.
