Vice-Chairman
Biography about the Vice-Chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands.
Councillor Linda Malyon is the 2025/2026 Vice Chair for Staffordshire Moorlands
Below is a short biography from Councillor Linda Malyon
I am very much a family person, I have two children, Karl and Carolyne and their partners Rachel and David respectively, and three grandchildren, Sophie, Jake and Kara. I have lived in Ipstones all my life, born at Cherryeye, my mum and dad being farmers.
I have served on the council for 34 years and I now have the honour of being Vice Chair of the Staffordshire Moorlands. I also like to be involved in the community and help different organisations with various projects, here in my ward of Ipstones and beyond. I am proud to represent this ward and its wonderful community, which also includes Foxt, Berkhamstych, part of Consall, and Bradnop.
My first job was in the office at the former Thomas Bolton and Sons Copper Works in Froghall, after having our children I then went on to work for Royal Mail for 27 years. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to be able to do that all my life, going with my mother and father to visit relatives abroad every year, and in the years that followed I have visited many other countries.
I am a Christian and even though I do not attend Church every week, I remain a strong believer.
During the next 12 months, I am looking forward to supporting the First Citizen of the Staffordshire Moorlands, Councillor, Adam Parkes, in the excellent work and promotion of local community groups as well as going above and beyond for all citizens of the Staffordshire Moorlands.
