Improvement work set to start at Tape Street car park

A five-week programme of work to improve Tape Street car park in Cheadle will start this week.

The car park will remain open but sections of it will need to be closed to allow the work to take place.

The work will see the speed humps replaced with new ones, the installation of new and additional signage, new pedestrian crossing points, drainage works and re-lining the car park to accommodate the one-way system and parking spaces.

Councillor Charlotte Atkins, Cabinet member for Services at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, said: "Car parks play a key role in supporting residents, businesses and visitors to the Moorlands so it's important that we ensure our car parks are well maintained and fit for purpose.

"The works at Tape Street will mean some minor, short-term segregations and partial closures but the car park will remain open for use. I'd like to thank people for their understanding and patience whilst we carry out these improvement works."
