"During her long, un-paralleled reign she has shown every day what it means to a dedicated public servant and the example she has set will guide us all in the days and years to come.

"Queen Elizabeth is the only monarch many of us have ever known and we will fondly remember the selfless way in which she fulfilled her duties and her reassuring presence in our lives on so many occasions of national significance.

"Her commitment to not just the nations of the UK but also the Commonwealth and communities worldwide has been apparent throughout the last 70 years and our communities in the Moorlands join with all of them in honouring, with gratitude, the remarkable service she has shown."

The flag at Moorlands House in Leek has been lowered to half-mast.
