The Duke of Edinburgh 1921 - 2021

Following the announcement today of the death of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the Chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands, Councillor Keith Flunder, and the Leader of the Council, Councillor Sybil Ralphs MBE, paid this tribute:

"It is with great sadness that we in the Staffordshire Moorlands learned of the death of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who has been a steadfast companion to The Queen and has dedicated his life to public service.

"On behalf our residents and everyone at the Council we send our deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family and join communities across the UK and the world in mourning his loss."

As a mark of respect, the flag at Moorlands House has been lowered to half-mast.

The Council is also reviewing meetings, events and the Chairman's engagements due to take place in the coming days.
