Weekly Food Waste Collections

Food waste collections started on 29 June. You can find out when your collection is scheduled using our 'Find your bin day' calendar online.

We're still working on some of the functionality of the new calendar, so for now please report any missed collections online via the council s website.

If you haven't receive your caddy, or it arrives damaged please get in touch and let us know using this link.

We can only accept...

  • all uneaten food and plate scrapings
  • tea bags and coffee grounds
  • out of date or mouldy food
  • raw and cooked meat, including bones
  • raw and cooked fish, including bones
  • dairy products such as cheese
  • eggs and egg shells
  • rice, pasta and beans
  • baked goods such as bread, cakes and pastries
  • fruit and vegetables including raw and cooked vegetables and peelings

Remember

  • remove all food from its packaging
  • make sure your caddy liners meet the EN13432 standard and show the compostable "seed" logo

We can't accept...

  • non food products including nappies
  • packaging of any kind
  • liquids such as milk - these may leak causing spillages

Extra waste

We can not accept additional food waste. If you find you have more food waste than will fit in your large caddy visit Love Food Hate Waste to find out more information on how you can reduce your food waste and use up leftover food better.
