How much is my council tax

A breakdown of the council tax you pay depending on the area in which you live

Special District Charge

This only applies to the parishes of Leek and Biddulph.

All Parishes were given the option of taking on the upkeep of parks and cemeteries and charging for it through their individual Parish Precept. Leek and Biddulph didn't do this and therefore the upkeep of certain parks and cemeteries is done by SMDC and shown as Special District Charge on the Council Tax bills.

In Leek, Brough Park, Birch Gardens, Leek Cemetery and the playgrounds are still maintained by the District Council, and in Biddulph the District Council continues to maintain the playgrounds.
