See why your bin has not been emptied

Our bin wagons are fitted with a system that records any issues the crews may have had with collections when out and about on their rounds

Due to the snowy and icy conditions, we have been unable to perform some bin collections. Our crews are out and will continue to complete collections where it is safe to do so.

If we have been unable to empty your bin, please leave it out, and our crews will return to collect all unemptied bins as soon as possible.

Brown bin collections were paused for 2 weeks over Christmas and will restart on Thursday 8 January. Real Christmas trees (minus decorations and bases) of 6 feet or less can be left next to brown bins, or be cut up and put in the bin for collection on your usual scheduled day up to 4 February 2026.

If your bin was presented at your bin collection point by 6am on the collection day, but it hasn't been emptied by the end of the day, you can now see if there was an access issue affecting all or part of your street at the time we were collecting. This form will tell you if we plan to return for the bin before your next bin day.

We won't return to empty your bin before your next collection day if:

  • your bin was not out for collection when we visited your street
  • the wrong bin was presented
  • the bin contained items or materials we don't accept and has been stickered by our crew
  • the bin was too heavy for the crew to move
  • the contents of your bin were stuck or frozen inside and didn't drop out when we tipped the bin

If no reasons were reported by the crew, you can use this same form to report a missed collection to us and we will come back within 5 working days.

Missed collections must be reported within 2 working days of your scheduled bin day.
