Cheadle North East - By Election

Notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy exists for a councillor in the Cheadle North East ward of Staffordshire Moorlands.

Where requests for a by-election are received then under the provisions of the Coronavirus Act 2020 the election will not take place, and the vacancy will be held open until it is filled at the election due to be held on Thursday 6th May 2021.

To vote in this election you must be registered to vote by Monday 19 April 2021. Registering to vote is easy and takes just a few minutes. If you have already registered to vote you won't need to do it again.

You can still choose to vote in person and our polling stations will be safe, however you can vote by post or by proxy if you cannot or do not want to go to the polling station.

Postal vote applications must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021. You can find out more on applying for a postal vote on our webpage about voting by post or proxy.

A briefing has been scheduled to help prepare prospective candidates who wish to stand as a Councillor at the forthcoming elections on Thursday 6 May 2021. As well as informing candidates and their agents on matters that will affect their campaign, it will also be a chance for them to meet and ask questions of the Electoral Services Team.
