Coronavirus information hub

During the Coronavirus pandemic any vulnerable resident who needs support with food, household essentials or prescriptions can call the Council for advice on 0345 605 3010.

From Thursday 5 November 2020 the government has announced a month-long lockdown across the whole of England. The new national lockdown rules will replace the tier 2 high alert measures across the area.

You can find out what restrictions are in place and more about businesses that need to close via gov.uk.

NHS App

You can download the official NHS COVID-19 contact tracing app from the App store or Google Play.

By using the app you can find out when you've been near other app users who have tested positive for coronavirus; see the level of coronavirus risk for your postcode; check-in to businesses displaying a QR code and get alerted if you've visited a venue where you may have come into contact with coronavirus; order a test if you need to and keep track of your self-isolation countdown and access relevant advice.

Self-Isolation Support Payments

Anyone testing positive for COVID-19 or who has been contacted through the NHS test and trace will need to self-isolate by law.

As this new legal duty may impact your ability to work and earn a living, the government has introduced a scheme for those who are having to self-isolate and are on a low income which will commence on 28 September 2020 and will close on 31 January 2021.

Applications can be made from Monday 12th October 2020.

Applications will be able to be back-dated to 28 September 2020.
