The Committee is responsible for the ethical framework of the Council, working closely with the monitoring officer.
The Standards Committees terms of reference include advising members on conduct issues and ensuring the promotion and maintenance of the highest standards of conduct by elected and co-opted members of the Council.
Membership is regulated by law and must include 25% external membership and a representative of the Parish/Town Councils.
The Committee is also responsible for investigating complaints against District and Parish/Town Councillors. A complaints booklet and form are available for further information.
