Cheadle Tales : Cheadle Trails

View pages in this section

Research shows that due to natural navigational choice, many visitors to Cheadle see only a fraction of the town therefore often missing out the market place, tea houses, oatcake shop, the Parish and Pugin Catholic Churches. A little further exploration would lead to Cheadle Park, which offers spectacular views across the town and surrounding countryside.

As a Public Art Programme, Cheadle Tales : Cheadle Trails aims to encourage visitors to spend more time in Cheadle discovering what the town has to offer. Four artists were commissioned to mark the way of three walking trails through the town. Each trail has been highlighted by a theme: Local History, Nature and St Giles'. Click on the links to find out more about each trail. Pigeon Markers were designed to act as way markers and viewing points. All the materials used for the manufacture of the works have relevance to the local area.
