Responsibilities
The Council consists of 56 Elected Members.
It is responsible for establishing the major policy framework for the Council, setting out the Constitution and defining the budget and the level of Council tax; it also appoints the Leader and the Members of the Cabinet as well as the Council's Chief Officers.
