Making Moves - the Exhibition

 An exciting new touring exhibition organised by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and other local authorities across the County with support from by Craftspace Touring and Arts Council England.

This exhibition showcases work by some of Staffordshire's top craft graduates and established craft makers, with accompanying workshops in Biddulph during July. This exhibition is a partnership project by authorities across Staffordshire to support local makers and provide a quality crafts experience for residents and visitors. All visitors to the exhibition and participants in the two free Making Moves workshops are welcomed to enter a prize draw to win a unique Sheldon:Cooney hand-blown glass.

 

Making Cakes from Clay

Free - 'drop-in' style session.

Come to the Making Moves ceramic workshop with Denise O'Sullivan, a talented North Staffs based maker featured in the Making Moves exhibition. Make a unique and quirky ceramic 'cup cake' to decorate at home, or decorate a tea cup in your own design to celebrate Biddulph Community Festival. Organised by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for the Making Moves touring programme, and the kind support of the United Churches Open Cafe.

Sea Worthy Crafts
Saturday 26th July 2008

Free - 'drop-in' style session.

A free 'Making Moves' workshop, coinciding with the fun Biddulph Community Festival event, "Biddulph by the Sea". Following on from the Making Moves crafts exhibition held at Biddulph Town Hall during June and July, families are invited to come along and create some seaside inspired crafts, with talented crafts makers Jaqueline Cooley and Jayne Williams who were featured in the Making Moves exhibition. Workshop organised by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for the Making Moves touring programme, and the kind support of the United Churches Open Cafe.

 

Making Willow Sculptures

During July, why not come to Biddulph Grange Country Park and see the Sycamore seed sculpture created by Spencer Jenkins for the Making Moves project. To accompany the exhibition we hope to hold a willow workshop during July  - The session will cost £12 per participant, which includes all materials and each participants will receive a beautiful hand-blown glass by local makers Sheldon: Cooney. The session will run on a Sunday from 10am - 4pm and will be suitable for adults ( 17+years ).
